Celebrating over 70 years in business, the Gulf Coast of Mississippi trust Shelton Jewelers with their valuables. "When selling jewelry we are also selling trust with each piece to be high quality that lasts," says Cathy Reed, owner of Shelton Jewelers. She is the daughter of founder, W.P. Shelton. "We re-design or re-work old jewelry and bring it into the new millennium to design the unimaginable", she continues. Shelton Jewelers custom design mounts for gems of all types and sizes creating tiny pieces of one-of-a-kind wearable art.
Jeweler, Dianne Murray, W.P. Shelton's granddaughter says, "We help make dreams and visions come to reality with jewelry that can be handed down through generations." Shelton Jewelers offers popular, traditional, non-traditional, and custom-designed engagement rings, wedding bands, and bridal sets. They re-mount stones with confidence creating a customized setting for the bride and groom on every budget level. Due to the experience and honesty of Shelton Jewelers, they are able to give knowledge and appraisals to the customer on jewelry pieces. Jeweler, Dianne Murray explains, "The longevity of our business shows that the community supports our high standards and quality of customer service." Challenging and simple repairs are done to any type of jewelry. Shelton Jewelers changes watch batteries and takes out links in watches on a regular basis for repeat customers.
William Paul (W.P.) Shelton founded his family-owned store on Howard Avenue in Biloxi in 1945, after having acquired the skills to repair airplane instrument panels during World War II. This store has been in operation for 75 years.
After retiring in 1986, W.P. Shelton sold W.P. Shelton Jewelers to the next generation of owners, his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Terry Reed. Keeping the business still family owned and operated.
Now in its 80th year, the family-owned business is run by Dianne Murray (granddaughter of Mr. Shelton) and staffed by knowledgeable salespeople, two bench jewelers, and an appraiser.
